I believe we all need a favorite Disney princess. It should be the law. At least in my head, it’s the law. And while many people say it must be scary in my head, I happen to like it there. And, as such, I obey the laws.
Anyway, my fav is Ariel.
By Disney standards, she could have been the first rebel princess. Not obeying her father with whom she had constant confrontation. I don’t blame her. King Triton could be a bit over protective at times. After all, she had an ocean to explore. And, while her father could be irritated that she wouldn’t obey, they both could use an anger management class—the apple didn’t fall from the tree.
I agree Ariel wasn’t the sharpest pitchfork in the barn when it comes to princesses. She was willing to do anything to be with her man--Prince Eric. Give up everything to be with a man? Now in my world that only happens through the magic of Disney. Give up her gadgets and gizmos—I get it. Give up her voice? No way.
Little Mermaid. Not only is the soundtrack one of the best of Disney’s (in my opinion), I understand Ariel’s thoughts with having gadgets and gizmos a plenty and has realized that they are not enough to make her happy. I get that according to others, she has everything that she would ever want, but after all, she “waaaaaaaaanntts more!” I get it sista’!
So, I had a yard sale! No, I didn't sell it in order to find a man, but I am tired of the gadgets and gizmos that I don’t need/want cluttering my house. I want more….not more stuff, just less
